Scottish spurtle

This item is an assortment of traditional Scottish oatmeal stirrers. Spurtles are a great way of stirring frozen juice, batter and dough.

The spurtle dates from the fifteenth century. Originally a flat utensil shaped more like a spatula, it was used for flipping oatcakes on a hot griddle. Over time the spurtle changed shape and was used for stirring either oatmeal or soup.

Available in natural cherry or maple.

BR150-D includes an extra spurtle plus display.
